Picture “Vermont” and you probably imagine a billboard-free state filled with small farms, moose, bear, and deer, or memories of ski vacations with maple syrup-filled breakfasts. We had this imagery in mind when we came here looking for a homestead with a large tract of land. Having grown up in small towns ourselves, we were searching for that sense of community where neighbors know each other and help out when they can.
Starting in the southern part of the state and working our way north through the Green Mountains, we found the dream property in its Northeast Kingdom: 217 acres in the tiny town of Morgan…and what a unique property it is! Five parcels, including two wooded building lots, all ensure privacy and protect spectacular views. We built a classic Vermont-style house and a large outbuilding to store recreational and outdoor equipment, vehicles, boats, or even accommodate livestock or horses. We were not sure what direction our family’s life would take in this beautiful region, but wanted to have options in the pursuit of our dream.
Now, it is time for us to seek out a new adventure. Maybe it is time for you to pursue yours. What will it be? Agri-business, personal retreat, artist studio, livestock operation, horse stable, bed and breakfast, wedding venue, microbrewery, cheese making or telecommuting – there are too many options to list. This property has been lovingly cared for and is now ready for its next owner.
So, have a seat on the porch bench, listen to the gentle songs of the birds, take in the autumn color, and dream…
